Philippa Worlledge, a self-taught Scottish artist living in London.

Like many in Lockdown I found a hobby that I loved doing and exploring so much that wanted to turn it into something more.

Here you can see my journey from the very beginning. The style I work with currently is blind line drawing, a hugely liberating and unique technique that reveals something original every time.

 Blind Line Drawing

People always ask me if my eyes are shut when I draw. With the term blind line drawing it’s not surprising. However my eyes are open; I do not look at the paper, only the object, view or image that I am drawing.

I have found multiple styles have emerged from this technique. Firstly, when I do not remove the pen from the paper - a line drawing, naturally creates a free flowing and abstract piece. Another style derives from removing my pen, creating multiple lines, the piece becomes easier to condense but can also have several layers, adding an extra dimension.
